4/07/2008 2:40:32 PM

Police are currently examining a house on the Gold Coast where ambulance officers found the body of a dead woman.

A police spokesperson said the cause of the woman's death was unknown at this stage.

Queensland Ambulance officers were called to the Parkwood house on Henry Cotton Drive about 10.40am to find the 56-year-old woman dead inside the residence.

She had earlier been found by a relative.

Police crime and forensic teams were examining the house.

Officers are also investigating the death of a man in Maryborough on Queensland's Fraser Coast.

Police said a passer-by found the man, who is believed to be a local, in the car park of St Mary's Church in Bazaar Street just before 8am.

It is understood the passer-by believed the man was unconscious and called an ambulance.

The identification process was ongoing but police were treating the death as suspicious at this time. The scene had been cordoned off.
